Myself and my stbxh share the children’s childcare 50/50. One parent puts the children into after school club for the days they look after them. Who should pay for this? Both parents or the parent who has the children that day?

The one who uses the paid childcare should pay.

Interesting. He insists I should pay half but I never have to use the after school club as my working hours allow for it. I work full time like him but he insists I pay half.

If he can't fulfil 50/50 that needs to change and he pays CMS accordingly or he pays to have the DC looked after when he can't, or relies on his family/friends to do that.

If your after school club doesn't insist on them being in there full-time then make the club aware on the days you have them that they aren't going in. Then the full bill needs to be sent to and paid by him.

My DP use to do this as he was in the same position as you.

50/50 doesn't work like that.

You can have outside childcarers, family members or friends look after your children in your time.

@Reugny That's why I said either 50/50 needs to change including CMS OR he needs to pay for childcare to cover his 50/50 / use family & friends to cover his 50%. It's a classic situation of wanting 50/50 to avoid paying CMS but not actually being able to parent 50% of the time and expecting OP to financially contribute to childcare she doesn't need.
