Sorry your having a rough time Daisy. In my employment I am able to take maternity 11 weeks before the baby is due. I dont know if this is standard or not (sorry I am not much use). I understand how hard it is when you are sick and pregnant. I am sure someone will be along to help you soon. Flowerybeanbag seems to know all about this type of stuff.
Take care.

daisy if you've hardly had any days off why are they worried about it? Are they concerned that you will need to take more days off towards the end of your pg or something? All you can do is exactly what you say, reassure them that obviously you will do your absolute best not to take time off unless you need to, there's not a lot else you can say to that really.

You can start your maternity leave 11 weeks before you're due as mamamufin says. But if you are really desperate and absolutely sure you won't want to come back, you could hand in your notice and leave employment 14 weeks before.
Even if you're not employed any more, as long as you were employed up to and including the 15th week before your due date, your employer still has to pay you SMP, which would start 11 weeks before. Does that make sense? There's only a few weeks difference between the two obviously, so if there's any chance at all you might want to come back, probably best leaving it until 11 weeks before, but if you get really desperate, you won't lose SMP by resigning and leaving a couple of weeks sooner.

exactly all i can say is well if im really really ill then i wnt come in-but if its fine n can manage then ill come in. Yeh i sort of understand I could leave in june then, think im going to leave in june, yeh think worried im going to take more time off, reason they are annoyed now is because i have been near their boy wiht c.pox-i out a thread on nannies staffroom today my situations, saying well we need to see if this can carry on.I can probaby manage untill 11weeks-but they are really stressing me out-not horrible with it-but i know im being a pain to them
