I've been asked to look after a 9yo for 3 nights. I am an emergency foster carer and have told the agency repeatedly that my limit is 8yo. ( I've previously had a child refuse to leave the house as he wanted to stay at my place and be home-schooled by me.)Obviously not possible but very upsetting as 2 social workers had to come and get him. So I'm not sure what to do. Feel so sorry for the little one but I have an 11yo and it can be upsetting for him .

Maybe ask for thread to be moved to the fostering topic op. I don't know anything about fostering, but hopefully a foster parent or social worker will give you some advice.

It's under 'becoming a parent', which feels a bit of an odd place to put it! I only knew it existed because I've been on here for years, under various names. There are still loads of topics I'm discovering, it's like some magic ever growing cavern this place!!
But I really hope someone can give you some advice, I think you guys do an amazing job, but from what I've read on here there seems very little support for foster carers Sad.
