Childcare costs

Spitballing here,
What is the average cost of private childcare for a full day, for 2 children in their own home?

What do you all pay or get paid, and do you consider that value, over priced, about right or anything else.

Thanks

Do you mean a nanny? Here it’s around £15-20 per hour take home and they will look after two children in your home. Trips and fuel for the trips etc is extra.

Whatever you would like to call it, for 2 days a month childcare, in the house, during the day.

Nanny seems to evoke a picture of a more permanent daily childcare situation for me.
But im not exactly hip with childcare lingo.

Thanks for the reply.

Presumably if you want two days a month then it’s permanent childcare you are looking for, albeit not on a regular basis. You might end up paying more for the inconvenience of it as it’s more likely the person you employ would typically have other children anywhere from once a week to three times a week so it means for three weeks of the month, they have two days a week they won’t be able to do much ok unless another family is happy to work with you.

A childminder wouldn’t be at your house so it is a nanny you are looking for. Depending upon the ages, job description, hours, and availability, you might be able to find a babysitter who will do it.

Two days a month I would expect to be tricky to find.
Nannies come to your house.
You could see if any local nursery worker's would help on days off like a babysitter. (but they are probably enjoying their day off)

You'd probably want a babysitter, I'd say about £150 per day.

Babysitter then. Certainly what i used to call it 40 years ago, but the children were under 5 that i looked after, so an apt name.
Thanks for your advice.
It is most appreciated.
