Summer Holidays Childcare

This will be my first summer holidays as a working single parent of 4. Just after some words of wisdom! Do people find it better to:

  • Take a full week off.
  • Take one day off per week.

I have 6 days holiday.

my plan is vaguely:

2 days work full time - camp/family
3 days 9-12 & make up 2 hours in evening

Was thinking to break it up, could take every Weds off so we can have 1 day trip a week.

Or is it best to take a full week and have a week of fun?! No holidays away.

Aggggggh!

What does everyone do?!

What does your employer need? We would not be able to approve splitting A/L this way.

im going to take one whole week and then a day a week: total 10 days leave.
if you don’t plan to have a holiday as such I’d do a day a week so every week you’re present

For years when mine were young I found taking a day off a week best to break it up. I couldn't afford to go away in the summer holidays any way so did days out.

Yes thinking a day a week might be best, especially as not going away. Break it up a bit.

A day a week sounds nice and a weekly outing

The hours are my normal working hours more or less (except making up the 2 hours, normally work 9-2). My employer is totally on board.
