Just wondering who is eligible to receive it and can it be back dated?

Is there an earnings threshold. Hubby in 92k and me on 75k. Is it worth is applying?

I just can't seem to understand the rules.. they don't make sense to me and hubby too slammed with work at the moment.

Thx in advance

If one parent earns more than £60k there is no entitlement. So no, either of you are eligible to claim it.

Saddogmum73 · 15/03/2023 20:55

No, you are both over the threshold of £49k. I am not even sure if you can claim but if you did you would have to pay it all back.

BernadetteIsMySister · 15/03/2023 20:56

No you aren't eligible, as soon as one of you earns £60k you are ineligible.

I'm surprised on those incomes that you need it.

Raindancer411 · 15/03/2023 20:56

We have to pay it back although it's only my husband that works as he is other the threshold. I claim it and we pay it back so that I get my stamp paid whilst I am a SAHP.

Emmamoo89 · 15/03/2023 20:56

No you can't claim It.

£49k has no relevance?

Between £50k and £60k the entitlement tapers. £60k and over and there is no entitlement.

Yes you can claim it but the highest earner would have to pay it back through a self assessment tax return. You can claim but opt out of payment and that will mean your kids will get their NI number sent automatically when they turn 16 rather than having to apply for it (and won't need to pay anything back)

You can claim and opt out of payment and still get the NI credits
