Nannyshare anyone?

Hi, I have a FANTASTIC nanny (happy, warm, patient, fun, extremely calm, LOVES children, very responsible) for my 11 month old daughter and am looking for a part-time nannyshare with someone interested in a Spanish/Portuguese speaking home (nanny speaks Portuguese, I speak Spanish). I'm doing this more for the social aspect, to find my daughter a regular playmate, than for financial considerations (although lifting some of the financial burden would also be nice!). Could have your child here at our home for 3-4 mornings or 3-4 afternoons a week, or more, to be discussed. Reasonable cost. Let me know if you're interested!

Hi Dominique - does this mean no English spoken at your house? I am looking for a nannyshare for my 9 month old son and live in Balham. But don't speak Spanish or Portuguese!

No, I speak English and so does my husband, but I speak only Spanish to my daughter so she will be at least bilingual. Also, my nanny's Engligh is minimal, although if you wanted her to use basic words and phrases in English with the children, in addition to speaking Portugueses, I'm sure she'd be happy to (and would be able to). May sound confusing, but it's actually supposed to be quite good for the little ones! I work at home quite a bit (almost 70% of the time, in the basement), and so would be here to welcome your son in the morning and see him off as well. Does this sound of interest at all? Let me know, perhaps we can discuss more.

PS -- Yes, we're very near Clapham South tube (about 10 min walk). Our flat is rather small (2 bed), but we have a garden, so it will be good in spring/summer for playing.

Ah. To be honest, it doesn't sound ideal for us if the nanny's English is minimal - while I would love my son to be exposed to other languages, I'm more concerned about him being able to learn English easily, especially since no one in my family speaks Portuguese! Thanks so much for your reply, but I'm afraid I don't think it will work for us.
