Hi 👋🏼

My DD just started with her childminder and every day we get something written about her day in a little logbook. I wondered if there were any beautifully designed ones out there that I could give the childminder, like a hardback one!?

I'd like to keep them!

🙏

Maybe with a nanny you employ this would be appropriate but I don't think it is with a childminder

But she's already using one! I just fancied a prettier one...

Would be useful to actually read what I wrote. Typical Mumsnet nonsense

You want to preserve how many times her nappy was changed and what she ate for lunch?

Rather than waste more paper why not ask your childminder about going electronic and using a parent app.

If you look on Amazon there are lots of daily diaries for childminders, not sure if they'd be described as pretty but some are definitely more attractive to look at than others

Lots of parents do like to keep stuff like this as memories so don't worry what anyone else thinks. I'm sure your childminder will happily use a l9vely book provided by you & be glad their work writing it is actually appreciated!

I'm a CM and I absolutely understand where you're coming from!
I used to do daily diaries for my little ones, including any activities we'd done, food ,nappy changes etc. I stopped doing them due to lack of time but I can understand you wanting to keep them

I did read it 🙄

What I am saying is that the childminder has her own books and system that she has set up and is happy using. For you to turn up with your own format may not be appreciated and for me, would raise some queries about how much you would start to dictate about my setting going forward. You are a new parent to her, first impressions are everything. Will you be finding your own reading record book for your child's teacher to use at school because you fancy a prettier one? It's over the top.

Why not just ask her first?
