Laws and rules about nursery fees due closure

Hi all,
I'm having some trouble with our current nursery. They are closing due illness of their staff (some days last minute), therefor they cannot run the nursery as they don't have enough teachers. Now, I do understand that everyone can get sick sometimes and you need to have the correct number of teacher ratio per child. But they are also asking us to pay for this, which I don't really agree on as it's not our "problem". It's a service they can't provide, therefor they can't charge us, or am I in the wrong here? Can someone send me a link of this if you happen to find one? We will have to take time off work/studies, to find a replacement and of course pay that replacement but also the nursery, I find it absurd. Especially when you pay A LOT for part time.

Thanks for the help

I think it's out of order for sickness closures but with the current struggle to keep going financially it maybe the only way they can keep their heads above water. A lot of settings are predicted to close for good through this winter because they can't keep the lights and heating on ....as well as all the other costs.

No, they absolutely cannot charge you for a service they’re not providing.
quote consumer act 2015. They also may be liable for extra costs if you need to pay them for a contracted service they haven’t provided.
