Probably not posted in the right section, but I always get great helpful advice in this section :) I'm about to start my job and want some advice my son gets 24 hours free childcare a week, but I'm going to have to now put him in till 5pm so his dad can collect him while I'm at work but I will need to pay for these house can I claim 85% back from UC if I already receive the 24 free hours ? I think it's a no but just wanted to see if anyone else was able to

Is it 30 hours stretched to 24 ? If so yes you can claim on anything you pay on top

@jannier yeah it's the 30 hours free you get from the government but he goes all year round not only term time so I think he still technically uses all the 30 free hours, does that make sense ?

Yes 30 hours is for 38 weeks so stretched is the number of yearly hours divided by the number of weeks the setting is open. You can then claim for any hours you pay for.
