So how much should I pay her then......?

I think I am checking the whole process of finding a nanny on here every step of the way!

Could I have some opinions of how much per hour (gross or net doesn't matter) I should be looking to pay an experienced nanny in Cambridgeshire to look after one 9mo baby? I am happy to be reasonably generous.

Any thoughts most welcome!

Forgot to say, it would be daily rather than live-in.

Try to research what other families in the area are offering, as that can help establish local market rates.

Looking after one child I feel is easy, though with a baby you will be wanting someone experienced, as you say... thus you will be paying higher than you would for a nanny in their first job.
Are the hours unsocial at all, as that could make a difference.
I would expect, without researching, that you would probably be looking at around £80-£100 gross per day.

Quick research:
£9 gross per hour, 3 children, Bourne source
£300 net per week, 3 children, 6 to 10 hours per day, Cambridge source
£8 net per hour, 2 children, after school position, CB4 source
£300 net per week, 2 children, 7.30-6, CB22 source

nannynick that is fabulous, thank you so much! I am seeing a candidate hopefully this week and she is quite experienced. I wanted a rough idea and also wasn't sure how much I should be thinking, and whether or how much difference only one child would make.

thanks so much
