By the hour (contracted hours that they pay for even if don't use).
Rounds these parts it's around £4.00 - £4.50 per hour.

robinredbreast · 12/01/2008 21:11

If people don't want to answer then they won't - don't worry!
My DD used to go to nursery and that was £40 a day.

KatyMac · 12/01/2008 21:13

I charge monthly in advance by bank transfer

MaureenMLove · 12/01/2008 21:15

You just asked that question on the wrong thread didn't you! No matter!

I charge £35 per day for a 10 hour day. So £3.50 per hour really. That's average for where I am.

IdrisTheDragon · 12/01/2008 21:16

Our cms charge £66.50 a day for DS and DD - they are there from 8am until 5:30pm. DS is £4.50/hour and DD is £2.50/hour. That includes all meals/snacks etc

Where we are nurseries are about £45/day, with a 15% discount for siblings.

IdrisTheDragon · 12/01/2008 21:16

We pay 4 weekly in advance btw.

MaureenMLove · 12/01/2008 21:19

Betcha wish you lived near me, Idris! I'd give MN users discount too!

star1976 · 12/01/2008 21:21

I charge £4.00 per hour and include most things, such as meals and baby wipes, but ask parents to provide nappies.

Very much depends on where you live from what I can gather though!

looneytune · 12/01/2008 21:26

I'm in South East and charge £3.80ph between 8-6, £4.30 outside of these hours.

looneytune · 12/01/2008 21:26

I also get paid on 1st of month into my bank account - in advance

shoshe · 12/01/2008 21:31

£3.40 pr hour in North Dorset which is all inclusive of everything apart from nappies.

Most my children are 7.30-4.30. as they are all army children.

I dont take part timers, just full time 5 days a week.

Paid a month in advance on the 1st, most pay a portion by vouchers.

southernbelle77 · 12/01/2008 21:37

shoshe - could you please pass some of themn over to the South East please!! I really could do with that!

MaureenMLove · 12/01/2008 21:40

Shosh, that NCMA thread we were on got pulled! Was it you, did you swear or summit!

Where in the South East are you SouthernBelle?

southernbelle77 · 12/01/2008 21:44

West Sussex. You?

shoshe · 12/01/2008 21:44

Nope wasnt me, dont know why?

SB, you need to live near a Miltary base since women can have children and still serve in the forces, CMs are like gold dust on Camps.

southernbelle77 · 12/01/2008 21:45

Unfortunatley not! Round here seems like no one wants to work or at last if they are, they are not looking at me for childcare

MaureenMLove · 12/01/2008 21:47

South London geezer, me!

MaureenMLove · 12/01/2008 21:48

What advertising have you done?

southernbelle77 · 12/01/2008 21:49

CIS, here, other one like this (), local website, doctors, newsagents...

MaureenMLove · 12/01/2008 21:54

Another one like this! Surely not! How about standing outside the local school with flyers or Shosh's old favourite, sticking flyers under windscreen wipers on cars in car parks!

southernbelle77 · 12/01/2008 21:57

When I first started I did leaflet drops though letterboxes but I hated doing it!
I'm hoping that when DD starts school in Sept it might bring in some more work as I will hopefully get to know more people!
Saying that, hoping to find some more work before then

MaureenMLove · 12/01/2008 22:03

It does take a while to get yourself known I'm afraid. Once dd starts school, you'll be able to mention what you do every day! Does she goes to pre-school with some of the children she's likely to be at school with? People start returning to work when their lo's are full time school.

southernbelle77 · 12/01/2008 22:19

Unfortunately we moved and she had to stay at the preschool she was already at as no places near our new house. So she won't be going to school with anyone from there.
I have a couple of queries lately from recommendations but as yet neither of them have come to anything Starting to feel like it must be my voice or the way I come across as neither one has phoned me back after initial contact

KatyMac · 12/01/2008 22:23

Take down phone numbers and arrange to phone in a few days
