if you cook is that included in your prices or do you charge extra for that?

I generally do a cooked lunch for mindees and include it in the price. But as they are getting older we have started having more sandwiches etc for lunch now. If they want breakfast or dinner then I charge a bit extra a day.

ChasingSquirrels · 12/01/2008 20:54

mine take a packed lunch to their cm, although she offers food - £1 for breakfast and £2 for lunch.

MaureenMLove · 12/01/2008 20:54

I only cook for one of mine and his mum provides the food, so no, I don't charge anymore. Lunch food for mindees is included in the price.

I cook
I don't charge
I agonise about getting it balance, home-cooked as much organic/localproduce

It's all a bit much really

looneytune · 12/01/2008 22:04

I provide all food. Breakfast, Snacks & Lunch are free, cooked evening meal available if required at £1.50 a time.

mum2akebk · 12/01/2008 23:13

I can provide food - at the moment I care for two babies who have their own food provided. I cook for two after-school children and charge £1.50 per evening meal. If I care for a child full time then I do not charge extra for meals.

dmo · 13/01/2008 00:09

i cook and dont charge parents i just food food expense down in my tax returns

tigersmum · 13/01/2008 16:29

I have a cook who cooks the food for me, yeah, I dont charge extra, my fees are all inclusive of everything.

maximummummy · 13/01/2008 21:23

packed lunches

chel86 · 14/01/2008 10:24

I cook and all included in the hourly rate. If they're here early then I'll give breakfast, I'll do lunch and if here after 5pm I'll do dinner. All homemade and can put it down as an expense.

hana · 14/01/2008 10:32

my cm doesn't even provide snacks

fishie · 14/01/2008 10:37

my cm does cooked lunch every day, snacks as needed and ds quite often stays for evening meal if other mindees are having it and he is hungry. all included.

hana i am shocked, how unfriendly not even to offer a breadstick or soemthing.

looneytune · 14/01/2008 10:45

Me again, meant to add that I'm changing my fees soon and won't be charing anything for evening meal as I may as well put it down as an expense instead

hana - what hours are they with your c/m? I'm tbh as it's somewhere in our standards I'm sure, not that I provide snacks BECAUSE it's in our standards, fgs, it's a must with most children!!!

hennipenni · 14/01/2008 13:36

I provide breakfast if needed and also evening meal too if required- no charges at the moment. I also provide snacks as per standards. I have however asked parents to provide a packed lunch as my very tight nursery runs mean i don't hve time to prepare the lunches.

chel86 · 14/01/2008 15:42

hana I'm too as cm should be providing snacks during the day. I know only stated breakfast, lunch and dinner in my previous e-mail, but that's because snacks go without saying don't they?! They should!! There is always a bowl of fruit available to the children, plus yoghurts, toast, cheese and crackers, whatever takes their fancy really, so long as it's healthy!

chel86 · 14/01/2008 15:43

E-mail??? I meant post!!

hana · 14/01/2008 21:58

I am shocked as well - a few pointed comments have been made about the girls being hungry when I pick them up, or that they had been asking for food but nothing left in their lunchboxes at all.....and I could please put more in their boxes for them to eat. very I know. I now bring in boxes of crackers/brioche/fields of grapes and apple trees cause the last thing I want them to be in hungry throughout the day!!

hana · 14/01/2008 21:59

they are there from 745 (with a huge breakfast in their tummies....lol) and pick up at 5

looneytune · 14/01/2008 22:01

Bloody hell......my after school mindee sometimes wants stuff out of her lunchbag but also has rice cakes or other fruit I have - it's totally up to her. How dare she say you need to provide more!!! She'd actually leave your kids hungry if you don't give enough food!!!

hana · 14/01/2008 22:03

I hope not, but the hints were there for me to provide more food for them. She would do lunch for £1 but I'm pretty fussy so I make lunches for them.

looneytune · 14/01/2008 22:03

Terrible - we do afternoon snacks between 3.30-4pm, depending on when we get back. Tomorrow I just have ds and afterschooler so we're off to soft play after school and I will go prepared with drinks, snacks etc!!

looneytune · 14/01/2008 22:04

Yeah but snacks should be provided, at least she should mention a charge if she's going to be that tight but you should know what the situation is with this!!

bigdonna · 16/01/2008 12:04

i too provide breakfast/lunch/tea and all snacks and dont charge extra.
