Hi, I live in South West London, and I’m looking for a full time nanny Monday to Friday, 10 hours a day. I have a girl who is 3 and a boy who is 1.
can anyone share what is the market rate for SW?
thanks a lot

I earnt £42,000 per annum for a similar job to that this time last year, and was paid overtime on top as and when.

CPHB2021 · 24/05/2022 21:59

Roughly £15-18 per hour.

GinaDonatella · 24/05/2022 22:01

Are they ‘self employed’ or are you ‘employing’ them with pension contributions sick pay holiday pay etc as that makes a difference
friends of mine with nannies pay around 35-45k in London pa varies along with the terms and conditions

Nanny2many · 05/07/2022 14:51

15-18?!
is that Net or gross? Employed or self employed?

Fabpinky · 05/07/2022 14:57

Nannies can’t technically be self employed because they don’t choose their own hours.

Me too. I’ve not heard of any nannies on permanent full time on much more than that

CPHB2021 · 05/07/2022 16:09

I am full time, employed on £15ph gross.

My friend pays £43,00, but her nanny comes away with them on holiday, babysits an evening a week and covers one in four weekends as they both travel.

I am bumping this to ask the same question but as of now (with cost of living etc). Are salaries being increased / have they generally gone up? I am SW London as well - wanting to make sure we are paying our amazing nanny market rates. Thanks so much.

Orangeanlemons551 · 27/02/2023 13:39

A nanny can’t be self employed unless it’s a temporary ad hoc arrangement.
If you want set days and times a week and not the nanny dictating when she is available.
HMRC are very hot on this .

Ieatmypeaswithhoney · 27/02/2023 14:22

Sorry to be clear - nanny definitely employed by me and we are paying NI, pension etc. I am just asking about current market rates for salary for this arrangement (working hours are 11 hours per day) as we are considering a pay rise.

Thanks.
