When you pay someone to look after your child in their home while you go away for a night/weekend, what would their job role be called? How much would you expect to pay for this service? Would you be expected to provide and pay for food for your child as part of it, or would you expect the person to pay for food for your child out of what you give them?

Thanks

It's called proxy parenting, it's generally in the child's own home, and you would be expected to pay for all your child's food and costs incurred, on top of this.

Proxy parenting. When I do it I am paid £250 for a 24 hour period, but that’s in central London. ABSOLUTELY I would not expect to fund either my food while working and especially not for the children I was looking after, that’s to be taken from kitty money/provisions left, same as all other costs while on duty.

also- it would be in the child’s home not mine. But I think some childminders do overnight care, in their home.

I used a baby sitter for something similar but they looked after my child in our house. I provided everything and they charged £9ph.

Some childminders do overnight care and weekends in the childminders home.

Proxy parenting. Normally in child's home and this would cost around £240-260 if you used my services (nanny) for 24 hours. You would provide food for your child and the nanny and any expenses. I usually do cheap/ free things though unless the parents are happy for / want me to do a day out.

In the childcarer's home it would be childminding and if your child is under 8 then they would need to be Ofsted registered.
I'd expect to pay somewhere between £5-£10 an hour and who provides food would be something to negotiate.
