Child absences without 24 hours notice are payable in full.
Child absences with 24 hours notice are payable at 50% of usual charges to hold your child?s place open.
If the daily times must vary from week to week, parents should provide me with a weekly schedule of the times for each day that they wish me to look after their child/children. This schedule must be provided at least three days in advance.
Any less charge upon change with a weekly schedule without at least three days in advance?s notes will not count, but the extra working hours will count.
that what i do for a parents i childminding thire baby 3month change thire minds every single day.and they said that am not flexible at all.
plus there is no minemum charge for them.

They are having a laugh, frankly.

Are theya ware that this is your JOB and not a hobby?

(am not a CM, do use one though and wouldn't expect to be able to get care at a days notice- even think 3 days is pretty damned good!)

Not sure what you are asking Nonna.

Are they parents saying that they parents want you to be more flexible, than it looks like you already are?

Parents pay for the space, whether they use it or not is up to them, but they still pay for it.

All my parents pay full for their child's space, unless they give 4 weeks written notice, then they pay retainer.

And they only get 4 weeks a year pay retainer, one of mine often has 8 weeks holiday a year, but they still pay full for the extra 4 weeks.

So they want money back for hours they id not use.

Were the hours booked.

If they were they are required to pay for them whether they have used them or not.

nonna · 11/01/2008 12:32

the problem is in contract they adress 23 hours they will neen from feb until the next year but this month they need me for full time but they don,t know the monthly schedule for this month ,so i told them to give me a weekly schedule least three days in advance.

from the first day 5 day ago , every day asking
1- feed baby at 10:00,1:00,and not in4:00 even if they lat whater is craying hungry or not.as a father nedd to feed by him self + droping in the middel of the day for just 10 min and go without even aphon call before
2-change the nappy befor each feed even it is dry as unused
3-not to wear a gloovs for the most of the day as i found her nail is tall and sharp.as i don,t want the baby hurt him self as it did with me.
4- father did take the gloves today with him with knowing that i have to go out 2 times at least each day collect from schoole

With me it would be:
child absences 100% of fees for all time booked unless the place is subsequently booked by another parent. I don't charge 2 families for the same place.

Where times vary parents have 2 options with me
1 - reserve the days they need for their child by paying retainer 1/2 fees for the reserved time. They must then use my booking forms to notify me which days they need, paying full fees for time booked (regardless of whether child attends for the whole of the booked time) and 1/2 fees for remainder of reserved time. If they later decide they need an extra day/hour etc there is no guarantee of my availability and a bill of full fees on top of the fee already paid. If I don't get the form by the agreed date notifying me which days/hours they don't need then they get billed full fees for the whole reserved time.

  1. Alternatively they can book occasional care as & when they need it and be billed only for the hours booked. But this way there is no guarantee of availability - I can only say yes if I have an unfilled vacancy or someone is off sick/on holiday. Again, no refunds if they choose not to use the place they booked.

Parents pay for the nappies they provide so if they want them changed unnecessarily no problem. But I would only agree to such demands if they will agree to take the discarded nappies home and deal with the disposal themselves as my bin is already overflowing well before collection day. If parents will trust my judgement in when to change nappies I will continue to deal with disposal as I do now.

I leave for school by 8:40, if parents have not arrived by that time they can choose to meet me in the playground or wait for my return. I have a responsibility to get other mindees and my own child to school on time so I do not wait for late arrivals.

When parents are late collecting I charge a high rate for every 15 min period (or part of). So if they are 10 mins late they pay for 15 mins (bearing in mind it usually takes more than 5 mins to come in get child & belongings and leave my property). Contracted hours are calculated to the hour, this gives a bit of leaway for parents to be slightly late on occasion.

HTH
I'd be tempted to suggest they look for a more flexible childminder. I doubt they'd find one. Some people just don't know when they've already got a good thing going!
