Hi girls,I hope you've all had a nice day and the little one's have gone home

I was just wondering, what do you all do when it's tipping it down {as it does here in Scotland!).

We go to the park to splash in puddles!,we go to see the Santa decorations!,and I try to keep them occupied with activities indoors.[etc etc]

However I feel we could be doing with some new ideas so any would be welcome

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

hi how old are your cmb and cmg?

KatieMac · 22/11/2004 19:22

Feed ths ducks

Visit other C/mers and friends

Have people over for Hot Chocolate and Hot Buttered Crumpets

Get all the instruments out and have a party/music session.

Bake a cake/tea/biscuits

Don't know really

I guess we do all of the above, the only thing I don't do is to meet with other childminders as they are quite a close knit bunch round here.....anyway I've got lots of friends we meet.

My youngest I mind is 2 1/2, and oldest is 7. They all come for various days and times.

The thing I haven't done for ages is get the instruments out, although my dh downloads music that the kids enjoy and we often have "disco's"

Most of mine (7) are 2 and under only 1 at 4.5, 1 at 7 and 1 at 10. I think under 2's are easier

I had an enquiry today......who knows

ssd · 22/11/2004 21:40

You kmow Katiemac, I think you're right in saying under 2's are easier.

Also I was told this from a VERY experienced c/m I know, she reckons "after schoolers" are much harder work than any of the other mindees.

Good luck with your enquiry

I deffo prefer little ones much more than taking on an older child.

I love teaching them things and find little ones like "sponges" and they just want to learn things all the time.

Even something like a jigsaw puzzle when they work out how to get the pieces in after trying several times.

I know that older ones are fun too but with DS I feel that having ones near his age would be very hard for him to cope with.

Good luck KMc with the enquirey

Thanks ladies - he's a 10 m for 3 days ....it means I would have no F/T places left - but a bird in the hand? and all that

KangaMummy · 22/11/2004 22:05

wet play with CMB is quite easy as he loves playing with anything,

duplo train set & reg duplo

farm

colouring

play kitchen

puzzles

books

we go to friends or have them round here

Not childminders though. I don't like the ones I know and don't agree with them on stuff.
