She just started in September and we quite like her. Do we tip her for Christmas and if so how much? We've got her some gifts up to £70

Give her a box of chocolates

There isn't a right or wrong with nannies. Generally I am given a gift voucher worth about £50 or a small gift. I wouldn't want my employers stretching themselves just for me. A nice card goes a long way.

So I meant to say, the fact you've already spent £70 I think is plenty!

Depends where you are - £100 in an envelope and some Jo Malone stuff used to be fairly standard when I was working in west London

I usually give £150 and a gift to about £50. She's the heart of our family though and no amount would be enough.

Depends on the job, but I’ve had everything from a fancy box of chocolates to an extra months wage. £70 worth of presents sounds lovely and generous to me, especially as she hasn’t been in the job role for long.

I always had a weeks wages in cash

littleselda · 14/12/2021 00:21

Ah I was thinking of £100 cash and gifts. Will get the kids to make a card too. Thank you so much

I try to give a small but thoughtful gift and a cash bonus.
