Has probably been asked already, but what would you appreciate as a gift (bearing in mind I don;t have much time left to buy it!). Was thking a bottle of something and some chocs/biccies - would that be acceptable?

Last year i got a lovely neckalce(not expensive) from one mindee and a candle se from another...one of my new mindees this year has already brought a present for me today, its a tall scented candle in a little gift bag, with nice message from her and lots of gliterry tinsle wrapped around it..i think its lovely cos mindee had a hand in putting it all together and TBH chocs are everywhere over christmas(says she who's bought all dd's teachers chocolates ), if she drinkw wine that may be better as she can dish it out with friends over the holidays?

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 17/12/2007 13:52

Personally I would prefer wine. (Cue my fellow cm's funny remarks! ) Like Rose says, there's an awful lot of chocs and biscuits going around a Christmas anyway. A small peice of costume jewellery is always appreciated too. Very easy to get hold of in all the supermarkets too!

, they have lots of nice things in i was in on saunday, im sure shell love whatever you get her, you seem to be very considerate and putting thought into it rather than buying 2 for £5 chocs>>.

Mum2Luke · 17/12/2007 16:42

I wouldn't want chocs, I like wine tho! No seriously I don't mind anything, it shows you are appreciated even if it is last minute!

I do ask them not to buy pressies for my youngest tho, I buy for mindees but I don't expect them to buy for my lad, he gets enough.

Happy christmas to you all and a Happy new year too xx

RudolphtheredROSEreindeer · 17/12/2007 19:28

one of my mindees has told me hes bought me stretch homer simpson!!

Mum2Luke · 18/12/2007 20:44

That sounds like a great stress buster, could stretch Homer instead of hubby!!! I got one of them for my 5 yr old, it came at 1/2 price with the movie.

He has started doing karate so i bought this dojo kit which he can use to kick and punch instead of me or his big brother.

Cannot wait till tomoz, am going to see Take That and you cannot get tickets for love or money so don't ask me to sell them.
