Childminders/Nurseries

Hi there, can anyone recommend any good childminders or agencies where I can find one? Or a good nursery? We are living in Exeter?

My little girl will be 8 months in Jan when I go back to work and I'm not sure which option would be better for her. If she was 1 year I think I would go down the nursery route but as she's a little younger I wondered if a childminder would be better? Does anyone have any advice?

Both work to the same standards....the EYFS and are inspected by Ofsted against the same requirements. Childminders are generally more flexible and you can build a relationship that can last to 11 years and beyond. Educationally and socialisation there is no reason why a childminder can't provide the same to age 4 no need to swap, people who don't know about childminders often think there is a need. The biggest thing is finding a setting you feel comfortable with vist a selection of them you can make a shortlist and see what feels right.

Childcare.co.uk - I have seen a few childminders advertising on there, also try your local Facebook mum groups for both nursery and childminder recommendations.

Most councils have a childcare finder, or can at least link to one, and they are free for both provider and parent.
This is Devon's:

www.pinpointdevon.co.uk

It lists registered settings and you can refine your search by requesting childminders only and by using your postcode.
