i might need to go back to work when my baby is 6/7 months old. I would really like to breast feed until he turns 1. is there anyway i can get around him needing to be given a bottle at nursery or am i just being delusional? I really don’t want him to have a bottle, and he won’t take them anyway.

Are you going to be expressing?
Work places generally have to provide a suitable place for you to pump/store milk.
Nursery should have a fridge so you can store milk in there. Try with a cup instead of a bottle - at that age sippy cups are ok.
At that age my son was still having 2 milk feeds during the day as well as morning and night so it's not realistic for him to not need milk. Under one that is their main source of nutrition.

how long will he be at nursery? My DD refused to take a bottle (expressed milk or formula) at nursery and just ended up breastfeeding more at other times. She was 9 months - so a bit older though.

Is it the bottle or formula you object to? If the physical bottle your DC might drink from a cup?

Have you tried expressing so that you can give expressed breast milk?

Worth remembering that as baby starts to eat food from 6 months then he will start to decrease how much breast milk he needs over the next 6 months.

So you wont always have to express enough milk for the whole day.

Your workplace has a legal duty to provide you with a space to express milk and safely store milk to help you to continue to breast feed.

There are lots of options you can consider. But it is hard work no doubt.
