Do you mean 06/07

Have you filed a return?
Do they know how much you earnt?
Do you owe from previous years?

Doesn't matter what the tax bracket is. Everyone has a personal limit of £5035ish. So if you do have a profit of £4500 you shouldn't pay any tax.

dmo · 19/11/2007 21:11

they do i wierd thing in the tax office od prodicting your wage and you pay one half of it in jan and the rest in july
i did this and just got paid back cause i didnt earn as much as they thought i would

SlightlyMadScreachingSirens · 19/11/2007 21:15

Yes but they only do that once you have earnt above a certain limit - usually when you have to pay £500 tax per year or more.

Were you working with a PAYE at start of year? Could you have been undertaxed on this aspect of the year?

Katymac · 19/11/2007 21:54

Have you worked (as an employee) at all this year

Did you childmind from April 06 to April 07?

ok Girls, i am stupid and rubbisha t doing official important paperwork and will sit in corner with dunce had on!

rang my tax guy and we went through details together as i kept my scribbles(but not clever enought to take copy of my return!Doh)
We worked out how much id earned and how much id received in benefit(incapacity)..i then rang ILR and spoke to lovely girl who then established i had entered in total TURNOVER as 4482, when in actual fact my turn over was 1400 and the rest was incapacity..Doh..so i had added them up, but them in the box as turn over so they THEn added the incapacity AGAIN to that total, taking me way over the 5035!

End result, need to send letter in saying i am a fool, which part was wrong, what it should have been and say 10 hail mary's.'Hopefully', as my real total was 4482, i shouldnt have to pay anything!

Thanks guys
