Hi
I have two young children and there’s a really great nanny near me (who I used previously) however she doesn’t drive and I plan to move in another year or so. Because it’s not a full time position my candidate pool is a limited. Cant decide whether I should go with the nanny who we can have for a year or ask my mum to help out until I can find someone who could be with us for longer once we move. Would appreciate thoughts!

Go with the nanny. A year is a long time for young children!

go with the good nanny that you know. A year is a long time to have a nanny for, and it would be almost impossible to get someone to commit to longer than that + a move.

Def use the nanny now. You may not move in a year

Ok good! That was my gut feeling but I wasn’t sure as I’ve heard so much about children needing consistency in their carer but wasn’t sure what exactly that meant. I know some nannies stay with their families for many years and in an ideal world we would have a wonderful nanny who could drive (we are only planning to move 20 mins away but it can’t be done easily by public transport). I’ve been looking for a while now and haven’t found anyone (again probably because it’s a 2 day position rather than a FT one).
