Im wondering if someone here could tell me what hours you can do without being resistered, if any?
Im a qualified nursey nurse and have 9 years experience, currently on Materity leave from my job with social services.
I dont want to go back to work but wouldnt mind doing a school pick ups and dinner from my dd1 school. Do I need to register? If so how llong is it from starting registration to being registered??

Thanks

You don't live near SW14 by any chance?

eleanorsmum · 07/11/2007 15:33

they reckon on 12 weeks to register i've known it come in 4! think it's 2 hours in your own home. sure others will know more!

Hang on and I will search Nannynick, he has a good bit that tells you exactly what you can do.

these two might help

thanks. Think I might have to reconsider registering as 2 hours might not be long enough for most mums
Havent registrered before on princles ofm i hate the idea of having to train for weeks on a job i have done for so long, especially as my passion is children with special needs. Is there much ask for child minders that have experience of SN?

Or, be a nanny - and use the child's own home instead of your own.
