After School Babysitter: Koru Kids; Yoopies; Sitters?

After Easter I will be looking for after school help for 2 hours (collect the 2x kids from school, bath them, give them snack & occasionally cook dinner).

What's the best website to look for to get someone reliable? There seem to be quite a few out there - some subscription eg childcare.co.uk and others which take commission from the babysitter.

I'm in London in case that makes any difference.

I get most of my nanny jobs from Childcare.co.uk and occasionally from a local community facebook group.

Thanks - after school care looks to be a real mindfield in terms of reassurance in finding regular childcare from the same person. I guess it comes down to how transient the local neighbourhood is and luck. I'll see how it goes and post back!

Following. Once my youngest starts school I'll have to let my regular nanny go and will be wanting an after-school nanny, and I'm concerned about whether I'll be able to get anyone consistent and good. Have been wondering about Koru Kids but it seems like a bit of a crapshoot.

Koru Kids only has two listings in my local area. I've also heard that the babysitter gets minimum wage and the rest goes to Koru.

Does anyone have experience of Yoopies? This is a subscription service and seems to have more babysitters but I've seen a few posts on mumsnet, albeit a few years old, where people have bought the subscription but doesn't get any responses when sending messages to sitters!

I wouldn't recommend Koru Kids, Sitters doesn't do regular babysitters, which means each bookkng is separate and you might end up with a different sitter every day. Sitters also don't do school pick ups. Don't know about Yoopies, childcare.co.uk and facebook nanny groups might be the way to go

Why would you want a stranger bathing a school child between 3 and 5pm and before dinner?
Most people would look at a childminder collect them from there and take them home to Bath story homework etc.

Just thought I would post an update on this.

Yoopies - not impressed. I sent three babysitters messages (the maximum allowed before you have to pay for a subscription) and got zero response back. One other girl reached out to me but once I got talking to her she wanted a higher rate. her advertised rate on Yoopies was £11/hour and she asked for £15/hour when I spoke to her.

Koru Kids - it does look good but I still can't find anyone who has used it! I posted on my local area forum and many people have come across it but no feedback. Many of the babysitters have a minimum number of hours which don't suit what I am looking for until I go back to the office (autumn). I was hoping to find a babysitter for 2x 2 hours per week to take the kids to the park after school. Most babysitters have a minimum booking of 6+ hours per week (@£13/14/hour).

So until I go back to the office I'm going to muddle on with before and after school clubs which run 8am - 6pm.
