Our fantastic NZ nanny is looking for a job to start January when our youngest goes to school full time - very reliable, we all think she's fantastic and she will be sorely missed!

Is it not an option to keep her on as nanny/housekeeper? Or does this not appeal to her.

matilde · 01/11/2007 14:31

Would love to, but she needs a full time job and i will only need afternoons come January. She has helped us enormously around the house too, but I wouldn't be able to keep her occupied for 7 hours a day 4 days a week whilst the kids are at school. Wish I could, but just not feasible

What about keeping her on part time and letting her find a share for the rest of the hours?

Bubble99 · 01/11/2007 14:39

Would she be interested in a job as a nursery nurse? Has she been living-in with your family?

Our nursery (Richmond) is recruiting at the moment as we have more children starting in January.

oranges · 01/11/2007 14:39

is she live in or live out? i'm looking for someone in jan, but ideally want live out.

thelittleElf · 01/11/2007 14:41

My job turned into a nanny/housekeeper position a few years ago, and now i do the following during school hours:
Household washing and ironing
Preparing meals
Household shopping
Cleaning and general sorting out
Running any errands for mum
Waiting in for deliveries etc
There's more but my mind has gone blank
I do have days when there isn't as much to do, especially as i'm so organised , but if that is the case then mum doesn't have any problem with me meeting up with other nannys for a coffee and chat .

It's swings and roundabouts i suppose, as if i do have time when i'm not needed as much as usual, we have an agreement that i'll do babysitting for her to make up the hours.

matilde · 01/11/2007 14:41

Gosh, that would be fantastic, but she just doesn't think she'd manage to make that work...as finding a morning only job would be fairly hard to come by.

Where in the country are you orange...i'm looking to move on in the new year.

matilde · 01/11/2007 14:43

Oranges - she's live out.

ooh, can you put her in touch with me? I'm at London Bridge, not Twickenham, but if she is interested, I am at
meeraselva at hotmail dot com.
We are looking to move to a more child friendly bit of London at the same time, so am in a bit of flux, but I am also flexible on the hours of employment as I'm self employed.

Bubble99 · 01/11/2007 14:48

If she wanted to work 8 - 1pm that could work for us as our morning sessions are busier than the afternoons

matilde · 01/11/2007 17:00

thanks for your messages - i have been out for a couple of hours - will pass on her messages and let you know.....

matilde · 01/11/2007 19:29

we're looking for a full-time nanny in jan but probably live-in. how much does she cost, live-out?
we're in fulham.

matilde · 07/11/2007 12:07

Hi litdog, can I ask her to get in touch with you or you with her? She has worked for me part time so I am not sure of her full time rate.
