she wanted to do my inspection this week !!!!! It's only been 2 1/2 years since my last inspection and ofsted are supposed to be very behind round here so was not expecting it just yet.
Luckily I am off at the moment (getting over mumps) so she is going to ring back next week cos I will be starting work again on Monday.
I am now in a right panic, it gives me at least 5 days to get myself organised. Just hope she is nice.
I have B23 in place, I have linked every child matters to my policies, I have an empty complaints file, I have caught up on my observations, attendance register up to date, I have been to a briefing for the new EYFS thingy, I am an inclusive chilminder and have documentation for that in place, all of my permission forms etc are signed and all child protection stuff in place.

Right then, what have I missed?????

Have you got photos of the children doing activities etc - can you link that to B23 & Foundation Stage .

StrawberryMartini · 31/10/2007 19:03

What's B23!?!?

FeelingOld · 31/10/2007 20:17

B23 is just short for birth to three.

Yes have got an album of photos plus photos in each childs obsevations file under the different headings for b23.

There has got to be something I have forgotten.

Do you know on our childminding course (last May), they never even mentioned Birth To Three! Fortunately I'm currently minding two 4 year olds so I'm thinking I don't have to bother?

ThePrisoner · 31/10/2007 20:26

Registration certificate, public liability certificate (according to some inspectors) and Ofsted poster (includes their phone number) on display?

FeelingOld · 31/10/2007 21:48

Thanks prisoner, I have those on display (or should I say I plan to have the ofsted poster on display when she comes ).

No Smoking sign (as your house is technically a public place - I know I don't agree either)

Written Risk assessment (even if that is just an initial in your diary to say you did a mental one - iyswim)

StrawberryMartini · 01/11/2007 07:54

I was told on my cm course that I don't need a No Smoking sign. I'm going to contact my cm advisor today to ask her the definitive answer! I REFUSE to have one in my house.

LoveMyGirls · 01/11/2007 12:27

Have you got a complaints folder/ leaflet/ poster?

FeelingOld · 01/11/2007 13:36

StrawberryMartini - we have been told by our development worker that you only need a no smoking sign if you have a room in your house which is solely used for childminding and then you need only have one in that room.

Yes do have a complaints file and poster giving ofsteds number.
