Childminders & cleaning during Covid

Any childminders here who can tell me are they actually cleaning toys after each child has played with them?

I'm doing my best with cleaning the area more & keeping people's hands washed & sanitised etc along with temp checking. I've removed a lot of toys but honestly don't think I can do as much as we're supposed to do with cleaning of toys. I also can't see how it's likely to make that much difference when 2 children are in direct contact anyway. Feeling the uphill lockdown struggle in a big way today.

I have the same 3 early years children in each day so I don't clean on a daily basis. I do clean if I see a child cough or sneeze onto it.

I have different children on 2 days a week so I tend to clean and /or rotate resources on that day.

Meant to write I have the same 3 in on 3 days a week.

No, everything that can go in the dishwasher (playmobil, lego etc) once a week though.

Thank you. I have 3 families, one full time & the other 2 on separate days.

The dishwasher is a great idea, never thought of that & we use a lot of the playmobil 123. Having them all full time is just an extra stress atm. Will try to do another cull of toys & rotation for cleaning when families swap days.

I would have seperate boxes of toys for different groups then rotate them to add variation on a weekly basis.

buckeejit · 11/01/2021 20:28

Thanks @jannier that's a good idea too. Every day I am removing toys & most of them won't go back in!

There is something in guidence on cleaning and how long items need to be left untouched before virus dies I think most are under 72 hours
