9.18am and no sign. Maybe you've all finally realised that Marmite is a poison and have gone out to buy some decent apricot jam.

OP posts:

SpooKAYsamuels · 17/10/2007 13:47

Smee may have her RL address, sorry all had to pop out, am back in now!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 17/10/2007 14:16

Wasn't going to say anything but now I know she's ok, I feel I can.....

Just texted mum to make sure she reads her email. It's not my job to make sure she remembers is it?

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 17/10/2007 14:16

Oh.....she just phoned, panic over

MaureenMLove · 17/10/2007 14:30

How funny! My neighbour has just popped in to collect his boy from me! I haven't got him! He said 'alright Mo, where is he, is he asleep?' So I said, no, its Wednesday, you should have collected him from your mums on the way home! He's got to drive back into London to get him now! Soppy sod!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 17/10/2007 15:04

Oh no......that sounds like a bit of a journey!

Megsdaughter · 17/10/2007 15:12

Had two sisters 10&8, Mum came to pick up, 10 year old went out to car 8 year old sat next to me. Mum finishes convo, picks up bag and goes.

I realise 8 year old is still sat next to me.

'Mum has forgotten you'

'Thats OK Shosha, she left me in a shop when I was born, and went home, then when I was 6 she left me at the bottom of a ski lift'

This was all said very nonchalantly

Mum appeared 10 mins later for her

She was a nurse, but we all called her blondie

She would also write my check out as soon as she got home with the invoice or she would forget it, then it would sit in her pocket till I had to ask for it

A totally lovely lady as well.

I wrote all this then mindee 1 pressed a keyboard button and deleted it!!! arggggggggggg And I dont type well as it is.

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 17/10/2007 15:23

Actually....what do you think of this.....mum phoned me to say yes, i know you're off next week, no probs [phew] and then said again sorry about this morning [think she's trying to keep me happy now ]......I said ok blabla and that I felt like the au pair was VERY nervous on the road which probably didn't help. She casually said 'yeah, should really have come with her today, she's not been driving on the left side long and went into a hedge yesterday!] and laughed as she said the last bit. I'm really worried that as a mum, she'd let this very young, very nervous driver have her 2 most precious things in the car with her

mumlove · 17/10/2007 17:53

OK all my mindees have gone home, but I picked up the devil from school at 3.15pm instead of DD. FREE to anyone who wants her (she will probably be an angel for anyone else) .
My mindees are being so good at the moment and it really helps with having the emergency ones, just need DD out of the way and I will be happy.

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 17/10/2007 18:13

Oh dear, hope the devil disappears soon. I'm lucky that new au pair collected the girls a bit early so now I just have the mess to clear. Gosh, this poor new au pair worries me with her driving, I'm so worried about the girls - not au pairs fault, I blame the parents!!!

mumlove · 17/10/2007 19:19

The devil is now in bed so we will see what wakes up in the morning!!

Maybe it will take something serious to happen to the girls before the parents eyes are opened to it all (hopefully not though).

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 17/10/2007 19:59

Glad she's in bed.

I'm afraid I think the same and it doesn't bear thinking about

ChantillyLace · 17/10/2007 20:28

Hi

Im new on this thread but been CMing for 7 months and had bad day today! No patience with child sitting with food in mouth and not chewing or swallowing or even closing mouth!!!!

Megsdaughter · 17/10/2007 20:40

Lace Ive got one like that, finally manged to get her to chew and swallow her meat today, she is and been with me since she was 11 month!!!!

And welcome to the staff room, come and join us, it some times helps.

You will usually find Maureen slugging out of a bottle, Looney with her head down the toilet, Strawbs with her anti Marmite banner. LMGs running around trying to keep us all in order, and me of course just being a angel

MamaG ans Kbear sometimes invade us and we have to ban them at times (mamag get s alittle rowdy and rude)

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 17/10/2007 20:49

at head down toilet - that whole line just cracked me up and I needed that as been sat here in tears for ages - I'm so bloody emotional, why can't I switch off.

If anyone else is still here.....fancy helping on my thread about telling parents?

Megsdaughter · 17/10/2007 20:56

aww babe, hormones who need 'em.

Dont worry about telling parents just yet, there is plenty of time for that. I bet they will be thrilled for you anyway, havnt seen other thread will go look now.

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 17/10/2007 21:01

I know! I've been like this for a couple of weeks now but didn't say before as felt silly - at least I can now blame hormones!!

I know I shouldn't worry about telling parents yet. I suppose my main concern is this new lady round the corner who's baby is due to start in Jan!

MaureenMLove · 17/10/2007 21:14

Well helloooo ladies! I've just finished painting my 20th card! Phew! I think I've missed you guys!

Now listen, Looney my love, I told you last night I'd need to ask lots of questions, I like to get a real feel and picture of you in my mind. V. sad I know, but I need to know! Are you a young mum (somewhere in early 30's) or really young, 20's How old is your boy? And finally for now, how are you feeling now that the news is sinking in a bit!

MaureenMLove · 17/10/2007 21:16

Oh and at swigging from a bottle. Angel my arse!

ChantillyLace · 17/10/2007 21:17

For what it's worth I love the bottle idea and I also love Marmite!

It took mindee 20 mins to chew a bit of sandwich and he only did that cos I waggled the yogurt in front of him!

Had him since he was just under 5 months.

Hi to all and thank you for the welcome.

ChantillyLace · 17/10/2007 21:18

and how thankless is this bloody job at times????

MaureenMLove · 17/10/2007 21:24

You're very welcome! Make sure you pop in during the day too, if you've got time. Meg is usually up first (coz she's old and you don't need so much sleep in your twilight years.) so she opens early!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 17/10/2007 21:24

ChantillyLace - another marmite lover Oh.....Strawbs aint gonna like you!!!!

Mo - I'm 31, 32 in Feb. Dh is 46. Ds is 4.7. Cat is....can't remember . I have pics of my little monkey on my profile but you'll have to look for a thread with my proper name as the yellow 'thing' isn't on my halloween name! As for how I'm feeling....god, really emotional. I was in tears (again) with LMGs on MSN earlier. I feel like this is an unplanned pregnancy and it's soooooooo not. It's just a shock as we'd both got it in our heads we'd be waiting and decided that was cool. A few days ago we found out dh's company are probably going to make loads of redundancies blablabla....stressed about parents....think I'll have to tell the lady round the corner who's supposed to have her baby starting in Jan that I'm pg but not telling others yet. May need to give her deposits back as not fair otherwise. And last week I lost £433 for having to close.

I want to be very happy but I feel very overwhelmed atm. I want dh to cuddle me but he's very distant [shit bloody waterworks!!! )

MaureenMLove · 17/10/2007 21:33

Hmm, you made it into the acceptable age by the skin of your teeth!

Things have a way of sorting themselves out. You still need time to get used to things. It gonna be hard until you get to the point when you feel you can tell your mindees parents. You're all up in the air, with loads of uncertainties until then. I bet once its all out in the open, things will seem a lot clearer and you'll start enjoying it. I know it you weren't planning quite this quickly, but God gave you this baby now, because he knows you can do it! (I'm not a religious person btw, but some things are just meant to be). I'll send you a hug if you like, but I might make you cry again. Oh hell, you're crying already aren't you!

Uh oh, Megs just signed into MSM, now I'm in trouble!

ChantillyLace · 17/10/2007 21:36

What's the acceptable age range?? Scared to ask!

ANd Looney (if I can call you that) hugs to you. Hormones should be made an illegal substance!

Megsdaughter · 17/10/2007 21:37

I will not dignify Mo's comments with a retort (on here anyway)!!!!!

Im up early because Im soooooooooo hard working and cant wait for my little buggers angels to arrive, dont you know Im waiting by the door, make up perfect, utifully dressed, and with afull day planned !
