Tax free childcare question

My cm is £4.75 an hour, £2.50 extra for his lunch. My son will go every Monday for 8 hours. How do I figure out how much to pay into childcare account? And how much to pay her each month?

Would I do

£4.75 x 8 + £2.50 - £40.50
£40.50 x 52 divided by 12
£175.50 a month
Takeaway 20% - £35.10
£140.40 a month into account?

Or if one month has 4 Mondays, but another month has 5 will Cm just expect payment for however many days that month if that makes sense? I am confused!! I don't want to ask her Incase this is a really stupid question Grin

Normally it’ll change each month depending how each month falls; we pay different amounts for childminder each month depending how many days in each month. She gives me an invoice and I take away 20% and put that in the tax free account. I often work it out myself ahead of time so that I can just pay her straight away.

I charge for the number of days used each month, so some months 4 others 5 in your case. I don’t offer pro rota contracts where you would pay the same amount each month.

Thank you I hadn't realised she'd send me an invoice Blush It's our first time using a childminder. Thanks both!

It's fine to ask your childminder. She will probably give you and invoice. You might be able to arrange to pay equal amounts over the year, or she may prefer to do it month by month.
