just re arranging all my toys
i have two big cupboards (purpose built) for the toys
the overflow live under the stairs

i am now in the process of farming out older toys to charity shops and have got two big boxes with lids to store toys neatly under the stairs

at the weekend everything is put away: prams in the shed, saftey gates under the stairs and toys back in the right places
you would never know i was a childminder (well exept for the notice board )

Have two 3 door wardrobes in the play room, these have been shelved and the bottom part of them is such that it it open with partitions to slide toy boxes in.

then have 6 4x4 wooden units that take toy boxes like the bottoms of the wardrobes. (not good at describing this) like this [[http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8758086/Trail/searchtext%3EPINE+STORAGE+UNITS.htm

The bottom of the wardrobes look like these as well and hold 6 boxes each.

this all fits in my playroom, and we bring individual boxes through as we want them. It means that the things like paint are on the shelves in the wardrobes and not easy to get at by children, the boxed toys that can get out what they want.

It can all be put away and the door closed on it nights and weekends.

How annoying, was going to get a link from argos but can't find one so not sure they still do these? click on here to go in my website then choose the 'photo's page' It's a bit rubbish atm so sorry if the photo's take a while to upload. Scroll down to the end and the row before last has a pic of mindee dressed up and 4 sets of draws behind (taken at my old house). This is the main thing I use, each draw is themed i.e. cars, barbies, bob the builder, baby stuff etc etc. Then things with small bits are in other plastic storage boxes with lids that snap in place, have a little wooden chest from Ikea which was cheap and I use this for puzzles. All this is kept in the playroom. Stair gates, highchairs etc have a little place in the dining room but mostly things are put away.

I love my draw system because they are easy for a grown up to pull out or children can easily open it a bit and get what they want. Never had any problems. They had wheels on the bottom at the old house but when we moved, I took them off and that works better imo.

Errr....that's it really.

Shoshable - tell me more about the wardrobe idea!!! I have a knackered bookcase and was going to replace it but I like the idea of getting something taller and storing the paints etc. high up instead of keeping them in the plastic tool box under the messy play table.

DH then fixed shelves in the wardrobe bit.

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 10/10/2007 19:33

Cheers for that Shosh

Ghostashoshabuster · 10/10/2007 19:37

They dont do the ones I use, only the one with the bit up the side now. but you could use the top ones to put things like lego and knex in there, so the LO's dont get it!

Kiddi · 10/10/2007 22:41

Sorry a bit of a hijack. BLOOD SUCKING LOONEY just been on your website, I am impressed. I thought mine was good but now realise its just that everyone near me must just have naff ones! Was thinking about asking for feedback on my site from MNers, now abit scared! Have half read yours, stopped as I was getting depresed about mine. only thing I spotted that needed updatig was some parents can now get 80% of their childcare back. WOuld you be willing to look at mine and give an honest, if gentle opinion?
SOrry S88AG, regards storage mine is ever chnaging from a purpose biult addition to the corner of my lounge that then was plastered over and looks like part of the original house, to this weekend I have just bought an exdisplay kitchen that has two floor to ceiling units left over so they wil be going in my playroom soon and I will let you know how they work out.
I have had a real clear out this year, I got my ADDITIONal resources boxes/crates down from 40! to 10. I did have an attahced garage with stuff in then after moving was fed up with it all in MY BEDROOM!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 11/10/2007 08:28

Thanks Kiddi, that's nice but I'm sure yours is fine I'd be happy to have a look. As for the 80%, thanks, I didn't actually know that HOWEVER, there's a lot more updates needed. Got no photo's of my new house/playroom etc, vacancies out of date and a lot more. I've been very slack but I really need to get off my arse bottom and update it, thanks for reminding me

franyfroo · 11/10/2007 11:12

LoveMyGirls · 11/10/2007 20:38
