With my third child on the way we have decided to get a live in nanny.
We have chosen to use a family friend who is French (and currently lives in France). She was.my au pair 30 years ago!
Can anyone tell me what paperwork needs completing for her to come over here to join our family. We are hoping that she stays for around two years.
I'm used to paying for childcare through the Gov top up scheme - will I be able to do the same with a nanny?
Thanks in advance and sorry if the questions seem silly, I just don't know where to start in terms of researching.

I think you will need to look at the immigration rules as they are at the time. With Brexit coming up very soon it is hard to know what the rules will be. She was your au-pair 30 years ago, so she is not young.

You cannot use Government schemes such as Tax Free Childcare with an unregistered nanny in England. Not sure which country you are in but similar things apply in Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland.
If your nanny was to register with the childcare regulator, thus meeting the criteria for registration, then once that registration is granted you can use a Government scheme such as Tax-Free Childcare. You cannot use nursery education funding with a nanny, so no 15/30 hour scheme.
