What to pay a childminder? Northern Ireland

Hi

Can anyone tell me what the going rate is per day for a childminder? Based in Northern Ireland.
I was thinking somewhere between 30-40?

Thanks

Surely the childminder says what you pay her not you telling her what you pay? Unless it's very different in NI they self employed and determine their fees.

I think in ireland - childminders are SE nannies? OP is it for care in your home or in theirs?

It would be care in their home. I just wanted a rough daily rate as she is a friend and has left it to me to make the call. My son would be with her from 8:30 to 5 and I supply his food.

Also, she is not a proper childminder, she is a friend that offered as she would like to make extra money

We are in england and the going rate in my area is between £4.50-5.00 an hour. We pay £5.00 and provide a packed lunch.

Most I know got 30-40 per day depending on number of kids.

Your friend needs to be careful that they do not breach any legislation that applies. In England they would not be able to this legally, NI is probably the same.

In my area a childminder is around £6 per hour.

Depends on the area - where I am in NI I've seen anywhere from £3.50 - £10 and hour. Also I'm pretty sure the rule applies here too that you can't accept money unless you're registered.

I charge £60 a day for this but then I'm a childminder. Your friend is babysitting so the going rate is slightly irrelevant and it's what you can agree between you (& if it's also illegal in NI, hope neither of you get caught out).
