Difference between nursery and primary school

Currently my child goes to NHS nursery and I work 5 days a week(incl weekends when her father looks after her) She will be going to school soon and I am wondering if I will need to change my working days to Monday to Friday to accommodate this?

Depends what your working hours are like. If you are 8-5 for example you could potentially have wrap around childcare, so utilise breakfast clubs/after school clubs. Or a childminder for school drop off/pick up?

What shifts do you do - start & finish times? What’s your plan for drop-offs and pick-ups? School days are much shorter than nursery days.

I wouldn’t change your shifts, personally. School - especially Reception year - is full of opportunities/requests for you to come in and see assemblies, help with trips, attend parent-child stuff so having a couple of free days helps with that. Also if you want to get to know other parents and have kids for play dates etc.

I'd change if I worked every weekend so I could see my child and have family time.
