Complicated payroll furlough issue

Our nanny is on furlough (as am I), but was due to finish end of sept.

Our nanny payroll service has just come up for renewal and is pretty expensive to renew for 4 months (basically same for the year...). If I don't use their service they are going to send me a P11, which I'm assuming I can't do myself. Her tax and calcs are v simple as only this p/t job just under NI and tax threshold. So basically same every month with no deductions. Physically I could do the payslips easily enough, but I'm not sure of P forms at the end.

Also our company are doing furlough pay at the moment so we'd have to administer this on a month by month basis, but no hardship I don't think.

Any advice? Or am I held over a barrel at a tricky financial time?

If you don't want to do things yourself such as using HMRC PAYE Basic Tools or using software like Bright Pay, then I would contact other nanny payroll companies and ask them if they could take over the payroll. Some may charge for say a 6 month period. Some may charge for 12 months but let you keep unused months on file for the future should you ever get another nanny. NannyPaye may be worth contacting to ask them as they let people carry unused months over for future use.

Given the Covid situation I don't know if payroll providers are taking on new clients, they might be so worth a call to a few providers to see if they can take over in the circumstances.

I always did nanny tax myself in the payrollsite.co.uk.
A P11 just seems to be a recording of all the red deductions/ni deductions for the financial year so far.
Her tax doesn’t sound very “taxing” so I’d give it a go yourself. I found if I ever got stuck, that I’d ring the employers helpline and they just talked me through everything.
