Childminders:mortgage lenders and running a business from home

So I'm seriously considering a career change from teaching to childminding so I an be at home more with my DC2 (3months old).
I have read that some mortgage lenders charge an additional fee for you to run a business from your home. I haven't been able to speak to anyone who can tell me at Lloyds, presumably because of covid complications. Just wondering how common this is? Or do most lenders just want to be informed without hiking the price up?
Thanks

As long as you operate as a childminder and have the usual maximum number of children ie only 3 under school age and no more than 6 in total under age 8, childminding is classed as working from home rather than running a business from home.

It makes a difference in respect of mortgages and home insurance. Working from home is generally more straightforward.

If you have more children and employ assistants it gets more complicated.

As you would just be starting out I assume it will just be you and you can just state you ate working from home.

Hello, do you know where I can find the legislation for this I need to show it to an overly concerned neighbour.
