How much do live in Nannies charge

Hi Everyone

We are looking at the possibility of hiring a live in Nanny but finding information on wages hard to find, so we can have a benchmark.

One girl who is coming for an interview is bilingual which is a big plus for us, she doesn't have any nanny experience as this is her first role, which is fine by us as she has spent a year working in a primary school so has had hands on experience with children.

Just wondering if she is living in, food and amenities all provided....how much would be a reasonable amount per month? Before any deductions?

I would look to see if there are any comparable nanny jobs on offer.

You can add filters to the job search to restrict to live-in and general location.

I charge 13/14 pounds an hour. I have 15 years experience with newborn and toddlers, qualified sleep trainer etc.

Oh sorry I misread your title I’m live out. For live in I would say your looking at 400-500 a week.

Where in the country are you? I pay 36 K per annum to employ my Nanny for 4 days per week (live out. Home Counties) (including NI and pension contributions)x There are rules on how much can be deducted for live in (think it’s about £50 per week).

Young person in their first nanny job, I'd be thinking about £8 an hour. This will depend on where you are in the country too.

Minimum wage is about £6.50 an hour.

Yes, you can take up to £57.40 a week off minimum wage for accommodation.

Also depends on what you are expecting. 1 child or two? household chores or not? Benefits of car to drive with paid insurance, or do you expect her to have her own or do you not min if non driver. Def look up nanny agencies to get an idea of wages and what is expected of those wages.
