CM Club - Charging same monthly figure - what if Term Time Only????

Me again

I'm going to be asking parents to pay me the same monthly figure from next year as it makes life so much easier. I already have one parent who pays this way.

Do any of you do the same? If so, what do you do if you have someone Term Time Only?

TIA

I have one mindee who I look after term time only. He comes 38 weeks per year. 38 x weekly rate divide by 12. If he does any extra days it's charged as and when at the normal daily rate.

I only accept payment this way

It makes things a bit odd when they leave (& for TTO you need to think about notice periods) as you may have a balancing payment in either direction

Thanks for that. Katymac, that's the very reason I asked. I've always known about having to check when it comes to final invoice but because TT only has much less days in the year, I wasn't sure what other people did. I'm going to do what Mogs mentioned, which is the same way as I do for the one who pays same amount each month. I just need to make sure I include my holidays plus bank holidays.

Thanks for you help

I would start in September then they have paid nearly all of it by the time the summer hols are done (that way they cn't wnder off owing you loads)

looneytune · 09/09/2007 13:45

Oh.....errrr.....I'm paid in advance so done already for Sept. Plus, I thought I should give some notice as I'm changing the way it's done?

Well remember if they slope off in Jun - you will owe them loads

CMs - a question out of curiosity - if you look after mindees in term-time only, do you or do you not charge a "retainer" for the holidays?

looneytune · 09/09/2007 14:23

I think I'll keep this Term Time only one as it is. It's a pain but I don't want to be owing lots!!!

As for retainer.......if they took up the only space I had for over 5's and I couldn't get someone wanting holiday only care then yes I would. As it happens, I have other spaces and not had enquiries for over 5's (not really advertising though) but if I was turning work away then I would!

LT - thanks. That sounds very fair.
