Childcare for 1 day

Would a childminder be able to provide childcare for just one day to children who were not registered with them ?

I have an appointment lasting 4-6 hours coming up, my husband is away with work and I have no one else to help.

Thank you.

Childminders are able to offer as and when spaces If they have a space but you would still need to fill out all paper work and contracts with Before leaving your child with them.

If I had a space, I might do this, but expect to pay a higher rate than normal as it would be much harder work for me because I don’t know your child/child doesn’t know us so I would expect to be in for a hard day (the first day with any new child is generally hard, however long I was expecting them to be with us for).

I think there are nanny agencies who offer this; hope it gets sorted.

You can register with sitters.co.uk who cover the majority of the country

I would recommend booking a babysitter on sitters instead. I've used it before (2 babysitters) and it has been brilliant. They're fully vetted, DBS checked, first aid trained and qualified.

look at local nanny agencies to you

they will come to your house and children be in home environment

what area are you

jannier · 07/03/2020 08:53

Of course. They would ask to meet child first so that the child is happy you fill out a form for contact details and permissions in case they need to go in a car or administer first aid. Most will ask for pay up front.

I'm a childminder and have no problem doing one-off sessions for circumstances such as yours.
