Yikes, its finally arrived - time to put dd to her childminder for the first time to settle her in before I return to work.

Any tips from anyone?? Dreading it already (being away from dd that is!) and feel sooo guilty!!

Will be part-time work mind - oh why can't we just carry on with our maternity leave for longer!!!

Just remember you'll miss her more than she misses you!

how old is DD? If young my advice would be to take a toy from home and get her settled playing before leaving. DONT say bye or make a big fuss. IME as a childmindewr and a mum kids dont notice you have gone if its done quietly!! Agree with other posters though that its more about dealing with YOUR feelings!

Hi - thanks for your tips - am just back having dropped her off at childminder and feel sooooooo guilty!! its true though - its my feelings that I have to deal with - she was happy as larry! oh and I did remember to pack 2 toys from home, change of clothes, biscuits, water beaker, bottle of milk, nappies, etc!!

Going to meet friend for coffee (well diet coke actually) hope the guilty feelings begin to fade!!!!

xx
