How important is a 'good' preschool?
My son has been attending a local playschool two mornings a week. It's run by friendly older women; there's lots of playing & cuddles but they do follow the early years programme. He loves it.
He's 3 now & a bright boy who wants to learn.
I'm considering moving him to a private nursery rated outstanding as it has amazing facilities, a forest school & excellent reputation & he could attend a couple of full days rather than just mornings.
My partner thinks I should just leave him where he is or take up a place at local school preschool.
What would other people do and how important is preschool as school prep?

Really not that important at all. A good pre school at a state school is going to give your son the extra challenges he sounds like he needs.

Ofsted ratings aren't the be all and end all - most only get assessed once every several years
