Feed after Nursery?

At nursery my 3 year old has breakfast at 8am. Lunch at 11:30am and tea at 3pm. They call it tea but when I read what he's ate it sounds like a proper meal. Do you think he needs another meal when he gets home at 6pm? He goes to bed at 7:15pm.

Thanks.

I would offer it, yes.

I always offer a snack before bath time - something like a crumpet or cereal or fruit. He always wolfs it down so must be hungry! He gets five meals a day between home and nursery!

DD is only 1.5, but yes, we offer a dinner when we're eating ours. Sometimes she's not bothered and we don't push it, others it's devoured. I think in our nursery, the portion at 3pm is smaller than the lunch portion, so she'd need something between then and bed.

Never understood why nurseries do tea so early or it’s more of a snack like a crumpet

Either feed them later or give a proper meal so parents don’t have to 9 Che home

That seems so early to give tea! I could understand a substantial snack possibly but not a full meal. Sounds bonkers!

Our nursery offer tea at 4.20pm. Often something like a half jacket potato, sandwich or wraps with fruit.
At 3 your child should be able to communicate to you if he's still hungry. We ask DS if he's still hungry or if he's full. Sometimes he doesn't want further food, sometimes he has a small portion of our meal and sometimes just snacks like cheese and crackers or toast. All depends on how much he's ate at nursery but we always give him a choice.

I always had to feed mine after nursery - something light usually.
