Babysitting prices

Hi :)
I thought this would be the best place to get the best insights. I'm an 18 year old babysitter and I have quite a lot of experience particularly with younger children. One of the regular mums has asked me to babysit her 2 year old and 3 year old (so quite high level effort, cooking and cleaning included )from 12pm to 10am the next day, and has offered me £50, I used to charge at least £5ph and that doesn't even cover it. How much do you think that length of babysitting is worth?
Thank you so much for any responses!😊

if cooking and cleaning were included i would expect to pay at least £5 an hour, most likely around the £6.50 mark (that is the average rate around here)

So 22 hours? No, £50 won’t cover it. She needs to at least double it...

PotteringAlong · 19/11/2019 17:43

And not expect any cooking and cleaning for that price either!

plantainchips · 19/11/2019 17:45

That price is not ok!

I’d expect £80 for a full day for 2 toddlers. At least

Raphael34 · 19/11/2019 17:55

And that’s with no cooking and meals already prepared

Nikhedonia · 19/11/2019 18:16

That's a really long time and a lot of responsibility for £50!

I would charge £100-£120

temporaryname91 · 19/11/2019 18:18

I'd say £5 ph daytime hours plus double time overnight. So 12-10pm, £50, 10pm-7am £90, 7-10am £15.

Total £155.

That’s no babysitting

That loco parents so proxy parenting

If you usually do £5 then 22hrs at £5 so £110 minimum
