Looking for an English au pair in Barcelona

Dear Mums!!
I was wondering if you could give me some advice.
We are looking for an English au pair to come and be a live-in nanny.
We prefer long stay because our two kids are small (4 and 2).
We have tried au pair wold, gum tree, Workaway and great au pair, but we are not finding many opportunities on those sites at the moment.
Could you help me, do you know anyone or have any ideas how I could find someone.
We live in the city Center in Barcelona in a well connected area. The au pair will have their own bedroom and bathroom. Free time when the children are at school and weekends, no cleaning duties.
Any advice welcome,
Please get in touch,
Victoria

It depends on what you are paying and do you cover the flights ??

We give a pocket money of 70 euros a week that’s everyone pays in Barcelona.
We do not cover the flights but these are not expensive!

For $70 euros you're definitely looking for an au pair an not a nanny. English live-in nannies would be paid £250/week plus.

Have you tried just offering more pocket money? I can't image many English girls willing to accept that, especially for such small children who I assume are only at school for a small part of the day.

Most au pairs just don't stay long term. We usually accept girls who only want to stay 6-7 months, they then like being with us and stay longer.

Just one word of advice if you do want to keep them -
I've had 2 au pairs who have gone on to au pair in Spain after being with us and have only stayed for 6 weeks. Spanish children stay up MUCH later in the evening than English children, make it clear that they are not expected to stay out with the family every evening (maybe only 2-3 evenings a week). Both complained that they have very little free time and were constantly exhausted.
A schedule for each week explaining when you need them to do their 5-6 hours a day if much fairer.
