Shall I replace my au pair?

Hi, my au pair has told me she is unhappy and wants to go home as she's homesick. She's been with us for just under 2 weeks and hasn't really got stuck in, I'm still doing most of the heavy lifting. I thought I'd made a great choice and felt she would be perfect for our family but that has turned out not to be the case. She's quite reserved, not particularly confident and hasn't bonded with my 5 year old daughter, they have numerous clashes. The problem is the time and effort it takes to find someone and the risk of it all falling apart is making me nervous about looking again. My agency has sent me a list of potential replacements. I wonder whether I should just cut my losses and find another solution, though for me alternative childcare options are pretty limited as a working mum. I find having an au pair helpful, especially with the school run and babysitting. Otherwise it's breakfast club, after school club, and a very tired child during the week! My previous au pair stayed the course (in fact she stayed for a couple of months after her original contract ended). Any thoughts/advice from the wise mums gratefully received.

I'd give it one more try to find the right one. Did you interview this one online? Maybe see if you can have more than one chat with the next one.
