CV - how much is too much info?

Hi there, I'm after some help in streamlining my CV. I've been a nanny for 18 years and the jobs I've had have been so varied (and often a complicated share or family situation), that I feel like by missing anything out I might be missing out a vital bit of experience that would get me the job I'm after! Really I'm just wondering how much parents expect to see on a nanny's CV, I keep reading they should be kept to 2 pages, and I don't want to overwhelm potential employers if I'm just sharing way too much useless info!

Wrong thread, sorry and good luck! I’ve asked for it to be removed.

I have an entire website and upload as much as I like. I have written references dating back to the early 1990's, some are still in my portfolio I take to interviews.
My current CV is three A4 sized pages. I don't think length of CV is an issue, it's more about how easy it is to read and how it answers the key questions a parent has quickly, once a reader is hooked then they will keep reading.

Do you know what sort of job you want? Highlight those bits but put as a bucket phrase that you have experience in all sorts of situations.

If you don’t know, tailor the cv to the position, you obviously have a lot of experience.

Thanks @benefitofthedoubt, I have an idea of what I'd like but unfortunately as I'd like to bring my DD with me I can't be too choosy! I think I will do as @nannynick suggested and just go through and ensure its really clear. It's up to 6 pages (including covering letter).

Cv should be 1 or 2 pages at most. Just include your last 3 families.
I have a testimonial folder , plus copies of menus, activities I have completed with children.

AtillatheHun · 26/09/2019 12:23

details for last 3 families and then just dates and ages of children for anything prior. THey'll want to see how long you stayed in those roles but not daily life. I like to see a separate folder with photos / activities etc separately - take that along to interviews (I've interviewed a few who brought along favourite age appropriate games / books / toys - really liked that)

What I have found that really works is going American style and creating a 1 page sheet resume with all your basic info on, maybe jazz it up a bit and your skills get them interested in you. Once they're invested they will read your CV weather its 6 pages or 1 page.

My resume has a nice background landscape photo, a professional photo of me and my skills listed with green dots out of 5 then my last job, and my interests and hobbies. Was a bit nervous with it at first but its got me 2 decent jobs so far in last few years so may be worth a try.

Thanks everyone, I've managed to get it down to 2 pages and a cover letter, which I can adapt as needed for different jobs.
