I worked, for a number of years, as a nanny in London. When I had my son, I nannied with him for a year and then registered as a CM. Did that for a few years and then moved home (out of London). That was more than a decade ago and I've been CMing since.
I have solid childcare experience but haven't nannied for a long time. I don't have formal childcare qualifications but have done many short childcare courses through childminding.
In the next year or so I'm planning to give up CMing and look for nanny jobs in London again. My first thought was that I have a lot of experience so finding a job would be quite straightforward but now I'm having doubts. Are families more focussed on nannies having formal qualifications or is experience still as important? It was when I was nannying previously.
Also, I've seen quite a few jobs looking after twins and ask for twins experience. Whilst I haven't looked after twins, I frequently have two babies together and often three under 2s at the same time and wonder if that would be considered as equivalent experience?
One more thing, when families ask for recent baby experience, any idea how recent? Roughly?
It's just a vague plan at the moment but any advice would be gratefully received.
