Which childminder?

We've recently interviewed a few childminders for DS(1) and are struggling to decide which one to go for. They all seem pleasant, warm, qualified, etc. Any advice?

e.g. Is it better for the childminder to be similar to us (in terms of things like ethnicity / class / religion) or would it be better to go with a different sort of person that would provide DS with a broader range of experiences?

Who is most convenient, nearest to your house?
Who is likely to collect from your preferred school?
Who provides meals etc?

Those would be the things that swing it for me rather than ethnicity or class.

Agreed. You’re overthinking it OP

You obviously like them both so now it boils down to logistics rather than aesthetics in my opinion. Who is closer? What are their holiday policies i.e. do you have to pay their holidays? Do any have young kids and would possibly need time off to attend school things. What is their illness record like?
As a working parent you will appreciate the convenience if you can get it.

I know you say you interviewed them but in reality they also interviewed you they will also be deciding if you are a good fit with them so when you go back you may put them off if you go back with the attitude of we are offering you the job.
I would go with the person that has similar attitudes to childcare to your own then on practicalities like price ease of drop off flexibility....compaif price on an annualised basis not forgetting all the added benefits like outings. Often hourly rates dont mean a quick guide to who is the best value.

I cannot believe that you are asking about ethnicity and class.
You need to focus on your child and which childminder you honestly believe would provide the best care for them.
I would not look after a child who I believed the parents generally thought they were above me.
Childminders usually have an extreme amount of experience and most are lovely
