I have one ds who is 2 (three in October), and this is what it says on my reg certificate:

"may care for no more than 5 children under 8 years; of these no more than 2 may be under 5 years, and of these no more than one may be under one year at any time"

This does not include my ds does it?

Also I always assumed I was restricted by how many I can have under age 3 but it makes no mention of that my current or previous certificates so maybe I imagined it! Or do some cms have this restriction??

I have an 8month old mindee at the moment, so he is my under 1.

I have an enquiry about a 15month old, or an enquiry for a 21month, so I can have one of them only yes? Just weighing up my options! In case I had to decide wich one to take on.

Your child is not included on your certificate, so you are allowed 2 other children under 5 each day.
How many days/hours do the new enquiries need? this always helps when deciding also once they have visited on how well you got on with them.

Depends what cre they need - if they are both P/T you might have both?

You can only take one on, if full-time. Given the ages, I'd go for 8, 21, 34 as 21 month old with luck will be more able to play with your ds.

The hours would overlap, so could only have one of them,

the 21 month old has visited with mum to meet me, but only wants term time only, and gave me the impression she wanted her childcare to be as cheap as possible, ie asked if she would have to pay if she had week off, and I got the feeling she wouldn't be happy paying a retainer fee in school hols.

The 15 month old is more hours per week, but not quite full time, for all year round care. My co-ordinatr phoned me today and asked if she could give the mum my number, so wil have to wait and see what happens!

My ds is very sociable, so not worried about how he would interact with them, has been great with baby mindee, and loves to play with him!

Money wise, 15 month old sounds better at the moment, so meet that one and see how well parent(s) get on with you.
