Our nanny is pregnant, we have a 1,3 and 4 yr old - can she continue working for me with the same commitment and love for our children ro si she going to start taking multiple days off and not wanting to baby sit??? Have you had a pregnant nanny?

Oh, that's not right mogs. you certainly have a right to work as long as you like, assuming you are able.

I felt I was more than able to continue but I wasn't aware of my employment rights and just went along with it for a quiet life! I actually enjoyed the few weeks off as I had to move house too so the extra time was well used!!

And the right to return to the same job (with any interim pay reviews) after one year. Ele's right that an employer wouldn't have to allow her to return to work with her child.

However, in our case, if we allow one employee to bring her child to work and not another, with similar qualifications and length of service, we could end up in a tribunal with an employee using 'custom and practice' as a means to being granted the same deal.

Isn't it fun being an employer, Bubble?

It's a bloomin' minefield, my love.

We've got a very expensive but-worth-every-penny contract with an employment law firm and can call them 24 hours for advice.

thank you eleusis, i had not thought of the reduced pay bit, makes total sense.
